Resident Criteria for Entry
For the SAFETY of the Children and Adults in Residence the Following Criteria is Mandatory for Entry…
Eligibility Requirements:
- Single women ages 21+, Single men ages 35+
- No age requirements for families. (Couples rooming together must be married or common law by State of Texas.)
- National and local background checks will be performed.
- State issued ID for adults.
- Birth certificates for children (parent’s names are required on the birth certificates.)
- Able to pass a drug test. (considered on a case-by-case basis.)
Disqualifications:
- Sex offenders or conviction of a crime against children.
- Outstanding warrants.
- Family violence with or without bodily injury occurring within the last 10 years.
- Assault (simple or aggravated) or battery occurring within the last 10 years.
- Positive drug/alcohol test (considered on a case-by-case basis.)
- Residents returning for a second stay can be admitted if the resident departed in good standing.
- We are not staffed to aid people needing medical, mental or physical assistance.
Admission:
- No Drop Offs. The RESIDENT must call, for a pre-screening survey, not a family member or proxy.
- Eligibility for shelter services is determined by phone or in-person before admission.
- All residents are given a 21-day minimum stay during the intake process; however, an extension can be granted for residents who get a job and are saving money or working on education.
Medication Policy:
- Upon intake all clients must have a 21-day supply of all prescription medication.
- Residents are required to lock medications in an assigned locker in the Med Room.
